Regenerative biomaterials
Material systems for guided bone regeneration and tissue integration under variable healing conditions.
Biomedical engineer
PhD student in Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine at Hacettepe University.
I work on biomaterials, surface engineering, and regenerative medicine — mainly how material surface chemistry and micro/nanoscale topography affect cell behavior and tissue integration.
Research focus
My background is in biomedical engineering, electrochemical nanostructure synthesis, and antibacterial, implant-related biomaterials. I am now extending this toward soft-tissue–material interactions and regenerative interfaces.
Material systems for guided bone regeneration and tissue integration under variable healing conditions.
Electrochemical nanostructuring of titanium-based surfaces and the effect of micro/nanoscale topography on material performance.
How surface properties affect cell organization, cytocompatibility, antibacterial behavior, and host response at biomaterial interfaces.
Selected work
Completed experimental work alongside an exploratory model I am developing for my PhD research.
Qualitative, rule-based models examining two related but biologically distinct questions in the context of early GBR membrane exposure: whether gingival fibroblast responses to microgrooves depend on ECM mechanical state, and how wound geometry and competing directional cues may influence collective epithelial re-closure. The models are hypothesis-building tools, not biologically calibrated predictions.
01 · Gingival fibroblast behavior
ECM mechanical state × microgroove guidance
02 · Directional cue competition
Groove versus field
03 · Boundary-dependent re-closure
Wound geometry × groove × electric field
Electrochemical synthesis and reduction of TiO₂ nanotube arrays, followed by structural, surface, antibacterial, and cytocompatibility evaluation for implant-relevant applications.
Nanotube synthesis on Ti-6Al-7Nb implant alloy and physical, chemical, and biological characterization focused on osseointegration potential.
Publications
Work on electrochemically engineered titania, membrane-based water purification, and nanostructured titanium surfaces for hard-tissue repair.
